SUMMARY & EXPERT INSIGHT
2026 forecast is expected to be similar to the slower parts of 2025 with apartment-style homes being hit the hardest. Growing economic uncertainty is a major factor for Canadians not purchasing homes due to risk of job loss and growing inflation. Many first-time buyers and investors are starting to come off the sidelines as they see it as an opportunity for lowering home prices to potentially gain the up-swing in the market in the years to come.
